I knw that feelig of the walls closing in on you till you can hardly breath! I think you should just tell her what you told us and get it done for next year!

Don't let it all completely overwhelm you! It looks like you can make things happen fast when you get going! You need to take the time to heal correctly and you can finish the pretty quilt in the "near enough" future.

If I were going to do a set of valances to go with the quilt, I would make the shams as simply as possible and try to contrast them with the valances. Good luck with the surgery! I can't say that I've been there, but I have had several back surgeries. The main thing is follow the doctors orders and take one day at a time.
