I am in tears reading your story and seeing the box your Daddy made. There is nothing that shows more love for another than a hand made gift, especially one that relates to the activities that are so often used.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and your special regard for your Mom and your Dad.

It is wonderful when we have reminders of when they were young, strong and healthy. Sometimes, the illness or accident that took them remains in our minds for a long time. That was just a short part of their lives, & we need to remember the decades they had before the deline. Mementos, such as yours, family stories, and photographs are all we have left.

Thank you so very much. Each life is so valuable and knowing things like this makes me realize just what sacrifices, other than even GOING to war, these men made for our country. Imagine their angst at leaving their families. Someday I think we will all know just how very important each of them were, whether we knew them or not. Somewhere down the line, all of this has to have a purpose.
Thank you for sharing your Daddy :)
