If you don't like it take it back. I purchased almost 1/2 bolt of yellow flannel for baby quilts at church when it was on sale at JoAnn's. Washed it all the right way. At every fold, as if on the bolt there was a white stripe after washing and before drying. Took it back, got my money back. Manager says it happens, some colors more sensitive to being under lights all the time.

I agree w/the ladies who said USE IT - I think the pic looks perfectly OK, I can hardly find what you're talking about anyway - it looks like it was supposed to be that way - kinda a batik effect.
But once you cut it & put it in a quilt w/other fabric colors, I'll bet you will have to look to find any difference.
Good luck & know your quilt will be a beauty - be sure & post pics.

Relax a bit luv!
It is not as bad as you think...Try washing the purple by itself, with the retayn because it looks like it may have been crowded, and balled up, so that the second time the retayn can get all over it. You sure can't hurt it. ...and then if it is still mottled, tell everybody it is expensive french with special processing!
because you are going to cut it up to bits anyway!
I hope you laughed!

That is such a bummer; but I agree that once you cut it up it may not be thbat noticable and may even enhance the pattern you choose to use. I think I would try washing it again. Good luck!

I have heard that you can use something called Bluing I think to bring the colors back but now I have never tried and don't know that for sure. I am sorry that you feel bad and maybe you can just go ahead with the quilt. I bet it will be pretty.
