There is a nice quilt shop in Highland, IL a little ways off of 70 called Rosemary's and another one in Collinsville, IL just off 70 called Cross Patches. There is also a small but packed one in Troy, IL...can't remember the name of that one, but I have found it on the internet before. Also one in Effingham, IL called Angie's Nine Patch...it is just off 70 also.

There is one in Waterloo, IL, Raccoon Hollow. It is located about 20 minutes from St. Louis. If interested, PM me and I will give you directions from I-64 or I-55. She has a lot of fabric, mostly $9-$10/yard. A big clearance table with everything 40% off.

you will find a cartoon map of ILL with all cities listed and quilt signs. If you select one, it takes you to their webiste. Hope this helps.
If you are ever in Milwaukee, check out Patched Works in Elm Grove. Over 10,000 bolts of fabric.

I PM'd you some shops in St. Louis.
Roberts Sewing Center in Joliet is great - I was just there last week, staff at the time were very nice. Another good shop is in Morris, IL on the corner of Liberty & Main Streets - beautiful fabric & great staff.

Someone just wrote there's one in Clayton. If anyone knows of any small shops (not JoAnns or similar), please let me know here or by PM.
Thank you.

I hope you add a week to your trip just for stops. Are you taking a U-haul. :)
j.
P.S. My local quilt shop just shortened its hours due to the economy. You may want to plan your trip and call the shops ahead of time to check their hours (and sales!)
Have fun!
