Hi Judy, I am about to start my first block. I noticed what a beautiful embroidery you did. What type of embroidery thread did you use? It seems in the picture to be a thick one. Did you do it by hand or by machine?

    thanks Andrea

I started the AOTH today. Wanted to have your input as to the embroidery in red. I did raw edge applique and I haven't attached the center nor finished with the embroidery. I embroidery the red by machine. Should I continue or is it too sloppy?

I don't think its too sloppy Andrea - it looks fine, and so does the rest of your block.

Andrea, your block is very neatly done (I don't see anything sloppy about it). Good color combinations and machine applique .

Hi Andrea. I think your block is lovely and your machine embroidery looks good.

My embroidery thread is 3 strands of Coats & Clark hand embroidery floss (That was all I could find in Arizona when I was looking for floss in March). Don't ask me why I used 3 strands instead of two, because I don't have a good reason, but I do like it.

Yours is looking great. Keep up the good work.

Yea!!! Andrea has begun! I really like it! Can't wait to see the next one! You finished that one quickly.

The one I'm working on now (#27) has taken me 2 evenings. The little Thai-style flowers have each taken me 1 hour to sew. I'm too tired to stitch anymore, so decfided to catch up on the events of today.

I've been a little stagnant lately, haven't gotten much done. I am still debating on whether I want to add sashing or not and, if so, what color (just recently thought about adding red to match the embroidery). I'm also kicking around making the center a little smaller so I don't end up with such a huge quilt. Need to make a bunch of decisions and get going again.
