Very nice and yes, your son will be happy to have this up there in Alaska!! I lived there for 31 years and a quilt certainly did feel good on our bed!! Love the log cabin too.

OOps this post went in at the wrong place. Don't know how that happened. Back aways there was a log cabin quilt shown and the quilter said it was for her son who was in military and had been sent to Alaska. She figured he needed a warm quilt up there!

You will see this post about your beautiful log cabin further down. Don't know how I got it in the wrong spot. But your son is very lucky to get this wonderful quilt to snuggle under up there in Alaska. I lived up there for 31 years and can tell you that a quilt is a must-have during those long winter nights!

Here is the second quilt I made, it was for my husband. No Pattern just made it up as I went around the center (The Declaration of Independence) Entered it in our county fair and won a blue ribbon. Sorry it's the only picture I have and not close up so you can see the fabric.

i designed a quilt top in the '70's. it had the red and white stripes, and then the top was a field of navy blue with large white stars that was made to cover the pillows. none of my friends liked it and they all said they wouldn't sleep under it because of the meaning in those days, and now, of being wrapped in a flag. i put it away, unfinished and finally gave it away a few years ago. i think it was going to look really cool when done, but i lost my enthusiasm. so, nothing to show just a sad story. have a very happy and meaningful fourth, everyone!

I belong to a snowbird quilting group in Florida during the winter. many members are active in creating patriotic quilts for Quilts of Valour. Here are two pictures of some of our quilts made during the winter of 2010-2011

I made the Bento box one in this second photo but it has not been quilted yet.
