I am going to stitch in the ditch and sew around each cat on the quilt top. I am thinking of using a transparent thread since there are so many colors on the front. But I can't use transparent thread in the bottom can I? Maybe the dark pink, cream or purple? What would you all suggest I use? I am stumped and don't want to start until I know for sure what would look the best.. Please help me?

I'd use pink in the bobbin to match the backing. If you do use transparent, try the polyester rather than the nylon. It is much nicer.

go with pink but a little darker than the background so that you can see it if you turn it over

What a great quilt. Love how colourful it is. I have been told not to use clear thread on a kid's quilt because if it should come undone you can't see it all the time and someone may get fingers or other parts wrapped in it. If it were MY quilt, I would trace around each cat and do the same around the frame of each block with black thread. I would free motion with blue thread in the blue area and stitch a line here and there along the squares to hold the batting in place but that is just IMHO. I love the quilt whatever you do with it.

Like the others above, I think the darker pink thread would be nice on the back.

I would use pink in the bobbin and match the thread on the top to the cats color. I have made four quilts with this panel and I love it.

I agree with pink on the back and black around the cats. Then, for the SITD, use the transparent or whatever color you used to sew the pieces together.

Thanks so much for all your ideas & recommendations. I feel better now and will follow your suggestions! Sounds like dark pink for the bobbin for sure and black for sewing around the cats. Not sure yet with the SITD thread.
