Our WalMarts prices in their new fabric dept. seems to be running a from low approx. $3 a yd. to $11 yd for good quality cotton quilt fabric. I noticed today that most of the quilting which appears to be part of a collection were about $8.97 yd. I have to say though the quality if better. They also have some decent cotton prints around $5.44 a yard.

They also had the jelly rolls on sell from $10. 97 for $7 but selection wasn't good. Fat quarters were .75 each.

Nope. She's my Nosey Girl and has to put her stamp of approval on all quilts. That particular quilt went to my GD.

The Walmart in Gilmer will be restoring the fabric. I spoke to one their employees and he said Walmart realized they made a very big mistake taking out the fabric. Sales plummeted because us quilter were not shopping for anything in their stores.

I have 4 wallmarts, they all are without fabrics but lots of groceries. I wish at least one would bring the fabrics back. I loved the VIP the most.

Is the quality as good as LQS or is it more Joanne's quality?

I don't know if the Walmart here is bringing back fabric but so far it doesn't look like it. I check every once in a while. I did see 3 -5yrd bolts for $5 last time I was there. Not at all good quality. And since I am just getting what I Need now and not building a stash I wouldn't have gotten it anyway.

Just went to my Wal Maart today and the new fabrics are higher than ther ever were. They still have some for around $3.00 a yard but a lot of the new pieces were $4.94 and $5.44 a yard. You have to look close at it too, some is not a good quality. I was dissappointed. They did have their sewing machines marked down. Their Brother 5500
( I think that was the model number )was marked down from$144.00 to$89/00, I would buy that if I knew it was a good machine. I asked the clerk if that was just a sale or if they were getting rid of them. She didn't know for sure but said she thought that they were getting ready to restock with new models. Might be better off to wait for something better. I have a good New Home machine in my sewing building in back of the house but I need another one
to keep in the house so I can sew both places. I could get more sewing done that way.

It's taking forever to get all the fabric on the shelves in Sherman, Texas, because the management has the woman who is charge of fabrics working in about 10 other places at once. I guess it takes a long time to add back even a fraction of the 8,000 items they took off the shelves two years ago. However, some fabric is in the bins. The Cranston Mills (VIP) is $5.47 a yard. One lovely doublefaced prequilted piece is $12.95. I didn't look at the prices for the fleece. I've already bought two yards of a VIP TOT to make binding for some baby quilt tops and have my eye on some really cute prints. froggyintexas
