    There are as many types as uses for them. I use a lot of the iron away and some of the "stay in" stuff. Cheapest is the fusible intwerfacings if it can stay in. The denser the motif the heavier the stablizer you can use. Be careful of tearaways. Can really destroy a fine embroidery.

    WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! I am finally caught up! I mailed both the June and July blocks today! I don't guess I should get too excited because I can get behind in a heart beat...LOL. hoffim and crazyforquilting your blocks are on the way.

    Tori is absoultley right. It all depends upon the design. I use a commercial stablizer I get from Maraton Threads. Med weight and one thing tha helps me is to add a strip of a heavier materail around the edge of the frame to lock the material tight against the frame.

    i use 'stitch n' tear' OR i was even encouraged to use pages from glossy magazines at a workshop! lol... they do work!!
    and i do use this method now and again... (only for applique though)
    you can actually ignore my reply altogether lol... as you're asking about embroidery...shucks!! lol...
