Hey, all. I have been out of town with a sister who has breast cancer so I'm running behind in posting my blocks.
Hubby has been opening my mail and then not putting it in the same place everytime. Found some in my office and some in my sewing room and on the kitchen table. So if you've sent me a block and I don't post it today I will as soon as I get the house straight and find it.

So far I've found
One block from Canada with no return address and no note inside.
block from Montanablu and Nancia
All are lovely. And a F8 from mistiliz.

donnad, i'm so sorry to hear about your sister. as a breast cancer survivor, one of 3 in my family, this is a disease that hits close to my heart! i hope for the best, and wish you strength, faith and hope.

I'm working on blocks - I have 3 more ready to go home, missed the postman today. :( But I'm chipping away. If only I could get my DD to nap - I could get so much done!

Shaysmema sent me a nice block today. Soon there will be enough blocks to put together a couple of quilts. The borders are bought and I am excited to see the quilts come together. I have learned so much from putting together blocks with fabrics I would have never picked. I will be branching out of my 19th century mode and 30's flour sack prints into a moderistic view. My children and grandchildren will appreciate it.

I made a road to tennessee for shaysmema. took me allll day. first time for that block. I loved this experience; teaching myself new blocks, playing with someone elses fabric, and trying to come up with colors to match that fabric out of my small stash. The biggest problem I've encountered is trying to find a quality black fabric. the fat quarter I purchased was nearly see thru. tossed it in the trash. guess I will have to shop. well, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. smile

Buy black Kona cotton. Price is okay, even good compared to my LQS prices and it is not see through. So far I have bought nothing. I have used only stash but mine is quite big after feeding it for 12 years and inheriting my dear Quilty girlfriends when she went to heaven two years ago.

I buy Kona solids. Moda does a marble that's nice too. Kona is $7 a yard or so at Joanne's
