Paris Texas 1931 Friendship Quilt Top
#74
I am totally fascinated by this whole thread. My great grandmother, who lived to be 3 months short of 100, always talked about Paris and lived there at some point, I think. She had wonderful stories to tell. Her name was Tommie, though she was not one of the Tommies named on the quilt.
What a wonderful thing all of you are doing. (I will talk to my mom about this, though I doubt she can help with your task.) I will be watching to see what else is discovered.

I stumbled across this post and also found some info. Mrs. W H Siddle is Rosa Coplin Siddle. Some of these people are buried in the cemeteries in Paris. You could write to the library there. I also used the whitepages.com and there were Coplins living there still. What a wonderful quilt.

A HUGE special THANK YOU to ACHANCY on this QB... she has done a tremendous amount of work on this, following one thread after another in her search for information on the family names.
ACHANCY is our heroine!
