It sounds like a dream to me...an absolute dream. So happy you and your hubby got a chance to get away for what sounds like the perfection vacation, perfect in every way.

I completely understand taking your things along with you. My friend Tina and I took a day trip to Blowing Rock NC this weekend. I took my quilt along with me. I worked on the hand stitching of the binding in the drive up. We still had a great time talking on the drive up even though I was sewing.

Why shouldn't you take a getaway and do just that? People just don't get it, that sometimes you just need to do something you love. Good for you and hubby. Sounds like heaven to me.

I can't wait to see your finished work, and I must agree that being able to quilt till you wilt is wonderful when you can do it outdoors in a beautiful setting. We live in a mountain area, so I set everything up on the deck when it is nice out. In fact, this is one of those days, I'll be out there with hubby all day. (He's building my outdoor kitchen) Glad you enjoyed your getaway

I went to Eleanor Burns quilt camp in Julian Cslifornia a couple of ueRs ago and it was much the same. Sewing was in a big room that was open all night if you wanted to sew. FUN!!!

Oh what a perfect way to relax, freedom, no stress, peaceful, beautiful scenery and weather, sharing with spouse, did I mention relaxation? Wonderful dreams and memory-making days.
