I don't understand why you can't continue to meet. If she is truly one of your favorite people, she needs your support right now. Don't assume she will not want to continue to quilt. Just find a convenient place, and carry on!

Call the churches around you see if they have a quilt club. I had started one at my church but I have found that 2 other churches near us also have one. My quilt club welcomes everyone. You do not have to be a member or a visitor (Although we would love it if you did :) ) We also have some women who do not know how to sew and are just learning.
We have one lady who never sews, shows no interest in it but will help sort fabric, LOVES coming and talking with everyone and that is one of the reasons we are there.
Good luck hope you find someone to sew with

Our libraries here have several public rooms to sign up for. FREE, nice and air cond. We take our own brown bag lunch or go out to lunch on the lst Monday each month. Some of the group take their sewing machines, irons and etc and others do hand work, knit, crochet or etc. we have no rules, no dues, and everyone is so helpful to those needing help.

Please check with the lady that's losing her job. She may welcome the chance to continue the quilting group. If she needs a job, pray that she finds one. There have been several suggestions mentioned on this board to help you continue. Follow up on one of them, if it doesn't work out, try another. Don't give up.

We have 9 people just in our neighborhood who quilt. We meet once a month in one anothers homes, some may do handwork, others may be cutting something out, others may be bringing and using their machines. Everyone brings their own lunch. It is a great opporunity to learn from and encourage, one another. In addition I belong to a Guild and donate quilts through them, make Pillow Pals, etc for charity. Also, our LQS has Fridays for everyone to come and work together. Get out there and explore the opportunities in your neighborhood. I live in a rural area.
