My eyes are starting to glaze over after looking at all these pictures!
The seam in the 3-block solution is through the white diamonds that radiate from the center of the 1-block solution. I can't tell whether there's a seam there in the original quilt. Either solution will work, but I just would prefer not to have that seam in the diamonds if I were making the quilt (which I'm not).

Dunster - I'm inclined to agree with you - it would look best without a seam, even though it would be easier in the 3 block version. Makes me happy that I haven't decided to make it - LOL

It is a pretty pattern. Is there any question you folks on the Board can't answer???? You are all so helpful.

Kansas City Star calls the pinwheel style block
"oklahoma's square dance" and said it was a star pattern in 1957. I haven't found the others yet but it is fun looking.

The diamond blocks could be two blocks. Make them with hte TRI-Recs rulers. My class is just finishing a quilt called ring of stars from McCall's Quilting thee best of American Quilting Jan/Feb 2011. We found that making the side pieces 1/2" longer than triangle piece helped the block go together easier. the side pieces would be the red in your pic.
Great job doing all the picture work. I'm still trying to figure how to do this-add a pic. Pegeth

Probably, Susan, because neither of us have EQ 5,6, or 7. (I'm sad :-( )
