I am just finishing up the Lovers Knot - was easy - like doing a log cabin. Just have to be careful to follow instructions or won't come out right. The book is confusing if you HAVE quilted before for some reason - that is b/c a lot she tells you is what you already know but when it is in writing it seems complicated - if that makes sense?

I did a lover's knot years ago. It was my second quilt. It is easy if you careful and follow directions and fast.
To sandwich the quilt, watch Sharon Schambers video on You Tube on how to baste a quilt. She show a very easy and fast way to sandwich a quilt. No big tables needed.

Go for it! That's an easy pattern and Eleanor's directions are always really good....just follow them and don't try to invent any shortcuts! :)

Lover's Knot is very fast and easy. I made two Queen size quilts in different colors and it took me less than a month
to do just the tops!!!!! Am giving one of them to my GD for her wedding next May in navy blue , turqoise and Lime
green, her favorite colors.

I made the placemats and they look awesome! I have a queen size one to put on my frame and quilt it for a friend and it looks so pretty! I am only doing meandering on the top of it as I don't know how else to quilt it!!!

Thanks so much! Going to watch it now.

Newestnana - thanks for posting the pic, really love the quilt.

I am soooooo glad I asked about this. You all have made me feel so much better about this. Found the book, now this weekend will get the fabrics. The ones I bought just don't quite fit my vision for this quilt.

It is very easy to make and there are no curves.

I made this several years ago and as I recall, the blocks were easy. BUT...I got one or two turned the wrong way and the whole thing became nearly impossible. Someone at the LQS took the time to help me lay it out correctly and it was really nice when it was finished. So the most important part IMO is take time and much care in laying it out, do the whole quilt, then put the blocks together and put them back in order. You'll be happy with the results.

I keep going back to this pattern, I love it. Right now I am using one on my dining room table.
