I love it. This quilt has made me want to to a OBW as I had no desire to make one before. How much fabric does it take to make this quilt? Lylamarie

Thanks for that cos I may not have noticed as I generally piece the stacks without looking.
Yep me too - but I had noticed when cutting the close similarity of alot of them so I made different "colour/feature" piles. Then laid each category in piles of their 6 pieces as cut so I could turn and play with them.
Also I said further up this one was one of the quickest I've done and I went with the first layout - I think the pre-sorting enabled that - I shall do it again!

You will need six repeats of the print pattern. Minimum of 12" repeat is okay but will only yield approx 57 blocks. So a repeat of 24" will give double that, but you obviously you are buying double the fabric length.
You really do need to get one of the One Block Wonder books by Maxine Rosenthal if you have never done one - you will then have all the info you need and an excellent pictorial instruction on how to select fabric, cut and construct.
See the special section on these, and Stack & Whack, Kaleidoscope quilts here (scroll half way down for the heading)

I have some fabric very similar with all the hexagons made just need to get them on the design wall and sew them. Nice job. I teach the OBW class with the cubes as well.

That is one of the nicest ones I have seen. Black border and background really work.
