My current project is full-size, which is the largest I've ever made. I estimated the other day that I've quilted about a tenth of it and had spent approximately 30 hours doing so- meaning I have another 270 to go! I don't mind because I love to quilt (obviously! ;) ) but I think I'll have to readjust when I'll actually be able to have it finished by!

Too long...took me eight months and at that rate I would have finished one quilt per year. Luv the look of hand quilted, but don't have enough years left to make them. LOL

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm... I have one that I have been working on for over a year. I will let you know when it is finished.

I do have a lot of trouble with pain in my hands, but that is only part of the problem. I also tend to procrastinate, etc. Oh, well.

When I did all my hand quilting, I was working full time. I would take a week off from work, and quilt on it all day and into the night. I could get the quilting done in a week. I also have a small house, so I didn't want the frames up too long either.

56 blocks x 8 hours per block = 448 hours
That's king sized quilting hours! ;-)

Lap quilt 2.5 yrs. This was my "waiting quilt." Some weeks I didn't touch it. I took it to Dr.s offices to do in the waiting rooms while waiting, or when a family member was in the hospital. I also took it with me when I carried my MIL to the beauty shop. I finished the quilting yesterday! YEAH All that's left is the binding. Here's a link with pictures from last fall.

My longest project was 21 years. Started piecing the top on the day Ronald Reagan was shot. Finished up the hand quilting during the 2002 Winter Olympics. I currently have one that I work on now and then. It's been in the process of being hand quilted since about 2002. The way things are going it could beat my old record. I've come to the realization that hand quilting isn't my thing. At least not large projects.

Me too. I've had a hand quilting project in progress for months now (lap quilt) and I'm not having fun any more.
