I think it's getting to the point that everyone has fire ants. Talk about bad allergy, I got bit 3 times on the ankle 3 years ago this coming Labor Day. Withing 20 minutes my eyes and ears had swelled shut and I broke out in hives from the top of my head to about my knees. Ended up in ER. They gave me an Epi shot and an IV with a loading dose of Prednizon and Zantac. Had to stay on both of them for 2 weeks. Now, I am taking allergy shots 1 time a week. After 2 years I won't have to carry my Epi pen with me.
Did you know that fire ants are in the same family as bees, wasps, hornets and yellow jackets? Didn't find that out until I went to the allergy Dr. !!

These lingo differences are downright funny, sometimes.
Won't tell you, what I first thought...not sure, myself...but...be gentle, with me...I think in pictures!

I have been up since 4:30 am, but obviously, I am not onto the computer very early!
We checked cows - - no new calf ... then, we woke up, which is pretty cool in Central washington, cool in temperature, and awesome in watching the sun rise.
had breakfast, coffee, smokes, and then fed cattle, made hubby's lunch so he can go provide for me in the manner to which I wish to be kept.
Then, I moved hoses, sprinklers, ran water for cattle, looked for calf ... no new calf.
Then, I got ready to go to town to take my little white dawg to vet for vaccines .... that rattlesnake vaccine is an absolute MUST HAVE!
came home after buying another 100 foot hose ... check for calf ... no new calf.
moved a sprinkler, decided to move cow herd from main pasture to a snacking pasture (who needs lawn mowers, eh?)
moved another sprinkler and added the 100 foot hose .. checked the bull herd to make sure no one went to the neighbor's visiting ... all there.
Have lunch ... next, I am going to go on a calf check, and THEN!
I am going to take a nap, followed by more feeding cattle hubby water sprinklers ... and, if I am REALLY good ... maybe load a queen sized quilt for SIL on for quilting tomorrow ... or finish the binding on the lap robe.
Other than that? I am getting by on my good looks, charming personality, and captivating wit!
THanks for asking Elle ... hope your day is going swimmingly, but I have this suspicion ... you are probably already getting ready for bed!
Sweet dreams?

Hi Elliemay. Reading this a day late. The weather was pretty general I think yesterday, wet and windy and very cold here and my daughter who lives in Kent said it was the same. Today however, a different story, much, much warmer and although clouded over a bit now, first thing was very sunny and bright. I shall be carrying on with my quilt today, am in the process of putting it all together. Have a good day
