It took me 23 years to finish my first quilt, all hand done (No rotary cutter, templates all traced and a quarter inch added), queen size. Started many projects while that was in progress.

For me it is the contrary. It is easier to start something new than to focus on one and finish it.

Just remember.....we are not children anymore and at our age we should feel free to do what we want. I know the guilty feelings that are put on us when we were young can interfere with our lives but we keep trying until we achieve that ever so desirable of feeling liberated. That is what I like about being older....we paid our way now we can really choose our feelings. Maybe not easy but it is doable

Wow, so many people who feel the same, and so many who are happy with lots of things on the go. I feel so privileged that you have taken the time to read this.
Today I have fmq on my current quilt and cut some more blocks for another quilt, a sampler. I find that I am enjoying the mix of things and have decided to let go of my guilt. I will never have lots of things on the go, but realise that switching between 2 different projects is actually fun. I may also make some envelope pillowcases from a tute on here. Thank you all for such positive responses and I wish you all fun and happiness in whatever you are doing.

I get bored with one project(table runner)toward completion and just look at it and find it difficult to work on. Really I realize that my fabric choices are all too dark and am not sure how I can fix it...(I am NOT ripping it out and starting again).
Maybe a light border and then the binding??????

So I am moving on to small Christmas projects. Once I figure out how to add a light border, then I will go back and finish the table runner. Meanwhile it just sits in the family room staring at me (Maybe I will feel guilty and get busy on it--naw!---no guilt here).

Does anyone else get almost done with a project and then are not sure if they like it? When things are finished I usually love it...but towards completion....I am not crazy about it.

It is driving my DH crazy..but he has clutter, so he cannot complain.

I tend to have one big project going. Then when I need a "pick me up". I will work on a wall hanging or something small. I have also been known to clean up/reorganize my sewing room.

I need your discipline. I have a lot of projects going and sometime lose interest in them. A. D. D. I guess. But I eventually do finish them!!

I have a few projects going on at the same time. I save the pieceing and quilting for when I am downstairs in my sewing area....have some sashiko in the living room for when I have family time. Just finished hand quilting an Hawaiian needleturn pillow top. I have several NICU quilt tops done, won't quilt them till probably the first of September. And of course, always adding to the list of things to do that are inspired by others from the QB.

It bothers me also, to have more than one project at the same time. I guess that's the way I was made.
