I certainly think you got the best part of this trade. Was she aware what the machine alone is worth??? This is two of you today that have been bestowed with super sewing machines. Is this a blessing for withstanding this summers hotter than hot weather...Gee I hope so since I live in the Valley "of the blistering sun" maybe I'm in for a surprise too. LOL

you are very blessed to have received this gift and hopefully the quilt you will make in exchange will be of comfort to her

Looks like you come out on the good end of that deal. Lucky you! Hope you enjoy many happy hours of sewing on Penny. Thanks for sharing your good fortune.

The complete guide to quilting in my opinion is the best reference guides. Take time to look into this book, it will answer many questions down the road. My copy is always close by.

I think you made a wonderful trade.

You obviously did something memorable for her, whether you know what that was or not.
My daughter received the quilting books and fabrics from a coworker when her mother passed because my daughter had made the coworker a quilt the year before. the mother sewed and decided "I could do that" with quilting. neither the coworker or her sister sewed. My daughter was just there for this coworker when things were not going well in her life.
You did good for someone. Be proud.:)
