OH hey, I love the mouse pad idea. I've just made 4 yesterday and 2 last week. I use them and they make great gifts to quilting friends. I'm using test blocks and scraps galore! I've seen them done like for a space for two mugs so you can have your mug and a snack on the same rug-----brilliant!

I use one all the time at my sewing bee group. I was using a scrap of batting at first (drinks sweat so much down here in Florida, who knew??!!) so the lady whose house we meet at made a bunch and keeps them in a basket on our work table. I need to make some for me!!

I don't have one, but I guess it's time to make some. I guess I'd better do them in brown tones to hide the coffee and tea stains?

I make big ones out of scraps and then practice FMQ then cut them down and bind them. I've come up with another use. We bought some new non slip fry pans and the only way they would fit in the pan cupboard was one on top of the other. They'd get scratched without my mug rugs between them.

I have made several-so quick and easy to do. This Christmas I plan to make several for family members. The easy and quickness is great for me.

I use mine every day! It's perfect for a glass of wine and a few pretzels at the end of the day.

That's what I've done with some of my scraps and have them around the house. I drink a lot of ice water and it causes that condensation on the glass so these are perfect. I actually have a couple in my sewing room (away from my active table) in case I knock it over

Another way to use up scraps is candle mats (I call them candle quilts) but I also spray a bit of Scotchgard on them to make cleaning up the dripppings easier.

I will own up and say I don't use coasters of any kind usually. I am always afraid they will make things more likely to topple over. If someone were making me a small quilted gift I would prefer a mat for my melamine tray, to be used to stop a plate from sliding off for breakfast in bed (rare) or dinner in front of the TV (all too common)
