I love it. They look like snowflakes. I have done 4 OBW using the hexagon and now I am starting one with octagons. I don't think you can go wrong with these and you never know till you put it together what it will look like. I think I will have to start looking for a fabric in your cool colors.

Perfect fabric for a OBW. I'd have never thought to use it that way but you did a fantastic job.

I'm about to start an OBW but not sure about the fabric after seeing this. It seems to me that the larger the print, the better the hexagons turn out or I guess the more distinct they are. I just know that the ones I've seen with a larger scale are more stunning. This one is really beautiful and now I'm thinking I might want a different fabric. Anybody else have an opinion on this?

I heard about this obw on this list, found book on amazon, ordered and now have it....reads so much like stack n whack except uses a design board eliminating the connecting triangles, except with the octogons......I hesitate to think about starting...seems so labor intensive and actually confusing......I just saw the new pic of one posted and it is beautiful...love the fab...how long did it take to finish.
Next question: what is a posey patch......never heard of that either

Your quilt is AWESOME. Your placement of the blocks really makes this quilt 'sing'.
