Mine is shawnemily after my 1st 3 grandkids! Yup. I did say 3! I said to my kids one day when we were sitting around at camp; "I want to be a grandma while I am young enough to enjoy them!" They all laughed and pointed to each other and it worked! :) My first beautiful grandson Shawn; was born to my oldest daughter on May 22 1997; but her brother (my son) Shawn; was battling cancer. Of course she wanted to name him after her big brother. He was so proud of his little namesake! 2 weeks later we found out that my Shawn's wife was pregnant! My Shawn passed away July 1st, 1997 and his perfect little miracle was born on Jan 1st, 1998. Of course he would be named after his Daddy :) There is enough love in our family for 100 Shawn's! Then on March 5th 1998 my youngest daughter had an adorable baby girl named Emily. I got my first computer shortly after and my "handle" became shawnemily! I now have 8 perfect grandkids; 4 & 4 and have a few other handles to keep them all happy but that is where mine came from! :)
The love in your family can be felt. It is very strong and your name could not be more perfect.

Thrums are the bits and pieces of yarn that are left after weaving. I use WhatsWeft as another moniker at my Scrabble game site.

Mine came because I am involved in KAIROS Prison Ministry. I also work with men in the prison PLUS program who make quilts that they give away to shelters, homless ministries and such. Since this program isn't funded by the state all of their supplies have to be donated and I spend alot of time attempting to help supply their needs. After a couple of years I thought "I can do that", it wasn't as easy as it looked but very much fun. Oh, yes my name is Dan.

One of their Quilts

I am gigi10 on here because gigi was already taken. The10 is because I have 10 gr kids. It was 9, as 1 was removed and her name was changed to mother's maiden name in the divorice. I always claimed 10 because I loved her. 14 1/2 yrs later this past June 21, 2011.......we had a miracle. My Mother and sister and I were stopped for the bathroom and snacks at a gas staion and my x-DIL came in. We all hugged and cried. Then she said "would you like to meet your gr daughter?" Oh, we were so excited and she is just beautiful. If you go to my FB page you can see her picture. It is titled 3 generations and my name Is mary nash(gigi). God is in the miracle business and this is proof. His timing was so perfect. There are a bunch of people from this board on FB in a group" Quilting Board Friends"
