I want to "ditto" for all the pattern designers already mentioned. However, did want to add some more, such as Debbie Bowles and Annette Ornelas. Beside more traditional designs, I also like modern quilts--Pamela Dinndorf of Aardvark Quilts, Cherri House (love her "City Quilts" book as she shows how her quilts are derived and shaped from cityscapes), Valerie Van Arsdale Shrader ("Simple contemporary quilts" book) as well as Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr of Funquilts Studio ("The modern quilt workshop" book).

I like McKenna Ryan and some of the designers for Bigfork Bay Cotton Co. because I seem to be drawn to nature and animal type designs. But I have to say I agree with others who mentioned Bonnie Hunter (who happens to live just west of me in NC) because of her creativeness and enthusiasm for using up all those bits and pieces we accumulate.

Bonnie Hunter- I love her scrappy quilts and her website. She indeed is very generous in sharing so many free patterns.
Elanor Burns/Quilt in a Day- I learned to quilt at Quilt in a Day and I think the books and techniques gave me a great start in quilting. Her story of how she started quilt in a day is inspiring.
Anita Grossman Solom- Love her book and techniques. Her techniques are fresh and fun.

I also find these ladies and their stories inspiring.

Me!

Why? Too many patterns I've seen have been copies of existing patterns, but with a different border or a new fabric line was used. If I really get down to it I can create something thats new and interesting. I never get bored with my own creations.

So far, I could not pick a favorite. Although, Eleanor Burns make things look easy. I just bought one of her books, and I am working on a Night & Day quilt block with her method. So far, not so good. I keep making simple mistakes.

Have you ever looked at www.javahousequilts.com? I want to make every one of those quilts. I've made 2 or 3 of her quilts.

Ami Simms and Scooter Simms make me laugh. Scooter is her new golden retriever recently adopted from rescue. Sign up for her blog and friend Scooter on Facebook

Linda Causee, Pam Bono, and Elanor Burns. These are just the ones off the top of my head.
