It really is lovely and I'd be thrilled with it as a gift. My favorite color is yellow :) :)

I think the yellow really sets this quilt apart. I would add a scrappy binding and it would be exceptional!

I guess I'm missing something 'cause I think it's very good.
Maybe my computer isn't showing the colors as bright as they really are.
I love string quilts no matter how one arranges the colors or how bright they are.

like it the way it is, another border with a different color would change it completely.

Haven't had time to read all the notes, so someone may have already said this...but yellow is a fabric color that seems to fade sooner than other colors, so it may tone itself down as it ages. I like a bright yellow, so it looks fine to me. I like the idea of a scrappy border.

I think everyone is pretty much in agreement here, the yellow works! Add another border if you want it bigger if not a nice red binding will look great. Well done.

Lol* I've got to add, I'm another who likes that yellow! I think this is gorgeous, and once quilted will be even more so. Love it. ;)
