Beautiful quilt.
Your background really makes this sing. I would make several layouts and takes photos of them all then decide which one to do it in. Do the one you like the best. Whichever one "feels" right to you and makes you happy with the way it looks is the one to go for.
I'm not sure I would have the patience to do a NY beauty.

I love this and always have a drool whenever I see your avatar! I think layout 1 has more movement and is more interesting and I love the idea of 3D geese in the border - I assume the Ricky Tims method?

This is going to be stunning when complete. I am liking the second design better, but the first one is also beautiful. Good luck with completing this project.

WOW!! Love the fabric and the movement, not to mention how difficult it must have been to get everything to line up so well. Love it. Only #1 came through for me, but I'm sure which ever way you decide, it's definitely a winner!

Ditto - have always wanted to do one of these - I've seen the Eleanor Burns method and Cheryl Phillips method and paper pieced method and am therefore spoilt for choice...

The second layout caught my eye. But you are right, the possabilities for layouts could be endless. Have a great time playing and deciding. It is going to be gorgeous no matter.

Love it!!! Great colors. How fun to be able to pick the layout after the blocks are done rather than being locked in from the beginning!
