I have a quilt my grandmother made for a family friend as a wedding present 56 years ago and when she was downsizing she gave it to me...

I am the only quilter in my family unfortunately. I am also the only one with a sewing machine. How lucky you are!

How wonderful - I wish I had a family member that was into quilting too - someone who really understood the addiction :?

You just made me smile when I read how excited you are about receiving your grandmother's quilt. I'm so happy for you! Blessings!

HOW LUCKY YOU ARE. I cannot believe what my father did to my grandmothers quilt tops. He threw them in the trash. At the time I was about 10. But I remember how pretty they were. I'd give my eye teeth for them.

I'm so happy for you!! I have some quilts that my MIL made. She was such a good friend and we got along so well. I miss her and the quilts are so precious to me. Enjoy your gift.

Happy Quilting,

I am the only one in my family. My grandparents made dolls, baby layettes, and doll clothes during and after the war. I didn't know about it until I started collecting dolls. I now have over 600 dolls and 3 are antique one baby doll my grandmother made. You are so lucky to have such a great inheritance in the quilts and also the history that goes with them.
