since the bodies and the wings are all made from one continuos piece of fabric, i'd say repro. they come out of asia and you can find them on ebay as sets. they're very nice anyway. and you really can't beat the price for handwork.
also, the white is thinner than the white fabrics i've seen from the 30's into the 40's. i think these are supposed to look like the 30's and they do.
if you trim them down to the smallest size, match all the black handstitching on the bodies and sash them, you'll have a great quilt, either for a wall or for a very special baby.
edit: the butterflies appear to be die-cut. i am an authority on butterflies, after all. ROFL :lol: :lol: :roll:

My grandmother had a similar quilt - the butterflies outlined with a black blanket stitch. So charming! :)
