So far I have 8 and just passed up/on a singer treadle, I bought it for $10.00 but gave it to mom who only has 5 machines. I felt sorry for her. cant wait to get the numbers off her and find out how old it is. She gets it next week.

I have 3 working machines - Baby Lock Ellegante, Pfaff Creative Vision and a Bernina PE230. One 27 year old Singer that needs repaired. I think I should have one of each kind. Janome is next! :) :)

I have a Bernina 1130 at home and a Necchi portable at the lake. That is all I have room for. I also have a Brother Serger, and that is enough.

One way to find attachments cheap is to look for attachment sets that were made for the Touch & Sew machines - they often go for a song on eBay, where sets made for the 401, 500 and 301 can get really pricey.

Of course, you won't be able to use the design disks for Touch & Sew machines, (unless you later get a slant-o-matic ;) ) or some of the feet intended for zig-zag, like the overedger.

But you can get a ruffler, cording/zipper, straight-stitch, bias tape applicator, narrow hemmer and sometimes one or more of the optional feet - like the edgestitcher, quilter, even feed, darning foot, tucker, etc. :)
I have attachments for the 301 - also the the above mentioned set for the Touch & Sew. Send me a pm.

I have got three and one serger. They are a Bernina 220, a Kenmore with more fancy stiches than the Bernina, an Elna that has embrodery functions (it mostly live in the closet) and an old White Serger. Someday, I'd like to get a serger with differential feed, but I don't use this one enough to justify it.
