We use Arm & Hammer, but when we ran out and couldn't get to the store right away I used some chicken feed...made of corn but processed so it was not dusty and absorbed liquid. The cats didn't seem to care and was good to use until we got to the store for more A & H.

I switched to Special Kitty about 1 1/2 years ago. It is great. I have no problem with smell at all. It comes in a pour out container.

We also get the same brand of cat food. They love it.

I use "Fresh Step" which I purchase at Costco.

I also use World's Best with a litter locker. I also line the cat box with 3 mil thickness trash bags because they are actually tougher than cat box liners.

Testimony - I had this at a 50% mix with the clay stuff. I left for a week for my grandmother's funeral; a friend made sure they were fed. (I told her not to worry about the boxes). When I came back, I did not smell the boxes until I moved them to completely empty the pans & start over.
I tried this with only 1 cat and will never buy it again. I found it to not be 'the worlds best cat litter'. It smells exactly like what it is made from - Corn cobs.
I went back to Fresh Step
WBCL is made from a bi-product of corn syrup.

As previously recommended World's Best Cat Litter is the best as far as I am concerned. I have been using it for several years. I find it very clumpable & easy to scoop. I also like that is made from dried corn & doesn't have an odor. I have 2 cats & don't have any trouble with cat box odor.

I have found all of your responses very helpful. Now I have to go and see what is available at my local Pet Valu and Global Pet Food. I'll get DD to check at Cosco too as we are miles from one. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I only use Pro Pet Fresh Results. It is made from ground up corn cobs (very green) and works great. Clumps as well as any other clumping litter. Smells fresh and it weighs about half of what regular litter weighs.

I also use it for my 2 cats and find it lasts at least twice if not three times longer than other litters. I absolutely love it because of all you mentioned above...especially the lightweight aspect, the clumping and the odor control. Glad to know someone else has tried it. I get it at WalMart.
