We have a quartz countertop (Silestone from Home Depot) and I love it. The sink is an undermount composite sink in off-white. It is not as stain-resistant as the ad claims. I would not get it again but I am stuck with it, so I buy lots of Barkeeper's Friend and Softscrub cleaners.

The other thing that went odd with the sink is that mine is extra deep - so yes, I can get large pots or buckets, or frying pans in it BUT then we also got an arched faucet and the combination makes things too tall - lots of splashing.

I have a big white porcelain sink with two sections, and I love it! Put in a new taller faucet set recently. Do have formica counters, and will do something different when and if we do a kitchen remodel.

whatever you get, do some research and make sure it is not made in China with Lead..many of them are!

make sure it is not porous, that it is easy to upkeep, sanitary, and makes you happy!

We just redid our kitchen and put in Wilson Arts laminate (same as Formica) it was inexpensive compared to other products and looks good like granite without the expense and we also put in a new sink. The sink is a black graphite single basin and we LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I have laminate countertops. I chose one that resembles stone. My double sink is extra deep with one side being large and the other just a very small sink. I really like the sinks because you can wash larger pans without splashing the water all over the place.

We replaced an old tile countertop with nasty grout and SS sink with grey speckled Corian countertop and white Corian sink.

I LOVE...
... The gentle color of the counters and how they go with anything.
... Not having grout or any kind of seam between the sink and the counter. LOVE this!
... Being able to roll cookie/pie dough right out on the counter.
... How easy maintenance the counters are -- we've had a few stains, which came right out with a soft scrubber; usually a little 409 and you're good to go.

... The white Corian for the sink. We should probably have gone with the grey speckled for that as well. We keep a plastic sink liner at the bottom of the larger sink, which helps, but the white does tend to stain easily. But, as others have noted, the stains come out pretty easily, too. [It's just that you wouldn't "see" them in SS.]

I've not had experience with granite, but I've heard that it's pretty hard on your glasses/dishes should you drop them. Corian is hard, too, but seems to have a bit more "give" to it. But I might just be imagining that! :-)

I have corian counters and extra deep sinks...love them. I got tired to trying to keep the stainless steel sink clean at the other house. If I were to ever redo my counters, I would do the recycled glass in concrete. My SIL has that in her new house and it is gorgeous!

I've got an antique farmhouse sink -- porcelain, and a big low rectangle, w/ the build-in drainboards of the same material. Kind of like a Youngstown kitchen w/out the metal cabinets. My mother had concrete poured for her countertops last year -- they seem to be holding up, but do take some special care. She likes them.

I have stainless stell sink...wouldn't have anyting else...My sister had a white porcelain type and it was all scratched up by yrs end with washing pots etc...
I love my formica..I have a brown marble tone it looks great.
I wouldn't pay the price for that other stuff formica is fine with me.
