mine is a nice one for beginners. Brother HE 240.. does everything I want to do for general fun embrodery.
check it out.. bout it through HSN Home shopping network. have not used the computer upload yet. have browsed those..
have used the various ones included and letters.. is limited to 4 x 6 area I think.
check it out.. Walmart has a basic one too..
Good luck.. I bought this on purpose.. for the amount of use.

My problem is I am over 100 miles from a dealer. I work part time at Joann Fabrics and went to KC last week end but the lady at that Joann's was NOT very helpful. All she wanted to do was sell me a high price machine which I didn't want to start out with. I've been looking at the Singer XL-400 it sews and does embrodiery. Also the Brother PE770 but it is just an embrodeiry machine. Also the Singer is on sale right now for 499.00. Better than the 799.00 for the brother.
