A book mark, lots of simple patterns on the net. One is to iron material to both sides of iron on interfacing. Cut into 2" wide strips cut those into about 8" long strips. Zigzag around edges. Punch hole in top edge center. Put 8 " narrow ribbon thru hole & tie in double knot. U can use your larger scraps for this.

I saw several suggestions for a yoyo and I remember seeing
an angel made from a yoyo. I can't remember where I saw it, but something like this could easily be made as a pin or made into a magnet. Can even be accompanied by a poem. I don't know how much time you have. Hope you can fine something.
I think your idea of a hand out is very thoughtful and to those attending appreciated.

I love those coasters and they are relatively easy to make in a hurry.

How about a Christmas ornament - but it can hang anywhere, anytime. There are probably lots of simple ornaments on-line for crafters.

My DH suffers from it. I go to monthly support group in the faciltiy where he resides. Last month I had presented each person with a small fabric covered pack of pocket tissues.

I explained that we all came to share our stories and ask for help and it is all right to shed tears. On the back of each packet I put a small label:

A gentle answer wards off wrath
But harsh words stir up anger.

That was my first thought. I once pieced and quilted (all by machine, of course) a pretty big piece, probably about the size of a yard of fabric....then cut hearts out of it and glued a magnet on the back. Yes, the batting showed a little but I did a good bit of quilting so it wasn't too bad. Please show us what you decide to do!!!!
