It seems to be a common dislike among lots of quilters, I really really really dislike doing bindings!!

Pinning and binding! I tried to do a quilt once without pinning it. It was a disaster! I take great comfort in knowing that by the time I get my next quilt ready to bind I will have my binding attachment for my Bernina!

I'd have to agree with you! When I'm excited about starting a new project, I want to get on with the sewing, not spend hours cutting it out. My favorite part is picking out the fabrics. I just love sorting through all those great colors to get the effect I have visualized in my mind.

That used to be me until I discovered spray basting on this board. I will never pin again! I use my bed and an old sheet to protect from overspray. So easy and fast. I can have a lap sized quilt ready to FMQ in about 10 minutes.

What I really hate to do is all the cutting.[/quote]

I hated the sandwich part so I bought a mid arm. Now I hate loading the quilt. Once it's on there though, it's a breeze.
I purchased leaders to put on the frame and it should make it easier to load the quilt. I've had them since Jan. though and REALLY need to put them on the frame. That is what I am going to do today! wish me luck

I just don't like the machine part of the binding (on big quilts). Love to do the hand work! :)

I love doing any type of handwork, and binding is no exception. I just wish my hands enjoyed it as much as I do.

I just read what I wrote in last comment to the DH. He said and I quote.."How hard can the basting be, all you need it a ladle." He was being funny, he knows darn good and well what I was talking about! But he puts a roof over my head, so I guess I will keep him. LOL
