I attach the binding with the longarm for my customers. When they get the quilt back, the binding is attached all the way around, the quilt is trimmed and they are ready for the hand work when they pull it out of the package. By using the longarm, neither the customer nor I have to wrestle with the quilt!!

I love binding. I guess it's more personal(hand stitching) vs. machine piecing. I think I'd do it for a living if that made any sense.
It's funny how a specific task becomes dreaded so much that just thinking about it makes you get riled up!

I don't like sandwiching because it ends up taking up so much room on the floor in my room that it's hard to lay it out flat and having a teeny tiny little space (if even that) to walk around the sandwiching project to get it pinned.

It helps to make your binding as you finish the quilt top, then half the job is done and you don't "accidentally" use the binding fabric for another project. Store all your completed bindings together, or somewhere you can find them. You can also save those leftover few inches of binding when you finish the quilt. Roll them up and put them in a clear glass jar. Makes a nice decorative item for your sewing space, and reminds you of all the quilts you have finally and completely FINISHED! (Don't forget a label, which is my least favorite part.)
