Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement! It means a lot! I am going through some tough "stuff" right now and will post my technique for how I wanted to put this quilt together as soon as I am able.

I haven't had time to remake a block from Zanzibars but I have posted pictures of the technique that I wanted to use when I made it. I hope it makes sense and if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.

I completely forgot about posting pictures for the way I wanted to assemble this quilt but I think I posted a tutorial on my blog about doing this block with a set in or Y seam a little while back. Someone I was very close to was dying at the time I made the original post and passed away on September 20 so this slipped my mind and I apologize for not following through.
