my kids have no sense of decency -- they haven't yet figured out that they are supposed to heap upon their mother a multitude of false praise and adoration! At best if they don't like something they just keep quiet.

I always ooh and aah over quilts or anything else that I like. Why shouldn't you be able to express your pleasure over beautiful quilts. That lady needs to chill out, or else be quiet.

HEY......Are you serious? My goodness, anybody who oooohs and aahhhhs over any of my things I have made make me feel Great!! An adult, a child (even if exaggerated) I am a happy camper. Maybe, if somebody would have said, "OH My, That color combination is awful or It looks a little wonky or That just dosen't do it for me" would that make her feel better? I am sorry, but I find what she said to the child extremely rude. Kids are kids, and 100% of the time repeat what they hear.

Yep. I know I would have stopped my child after the first time. LOL. My kids irked me enough to know how they could bother others in seconds and although cute, no one but family ever thinks they are being that cute.
