Where is the show? I am going to Portland in a couple weeks. I would love to add it to my itinerary.

    From the Volckening website:

"August 5, 2011: Beauty Secrets: 150 Years of History in One Quilt Pattern EXHIBIT OPENS - Benton County Historical Museum, Philomath - runs through September as part of Quilt County

September 22: Beauty Secrets lecture - Mary’s River Quilt Guild at Benton County Museum, Philomath

September 22-24: Antique Quilts Exhibit at NW Quilting Expo, Portland

September 23 & 24: Masterpiece Quilts lectures - NW Quilting Expo, Portland

November 21: Quilts, A Melting Pot lecture - Westside Quilters, Portland"

Not sure which one of these will have UniquelyNancy's quilt. I think this means you need to go to ALL of them! :) If you can, definitely go to Quilt Expo Sept 22-24. It is fabulous.

Thank you all for talking about my exhibit!

I bought the quilt from Nancy through Etsy, and it is a wonderful example of how far the New York Beauty quilt pattern has come since it first appeared over 150 years ago. The exhibit represents the life story of this classic American patchwork quilt design, which in earlier days had many other names such as Rocky Mountain Road and Crown of Thorns. The exhibit is in Philomath, Oregon - not far from Corvallis - at the Benton County Museum. My first museum exhibit! For those who can't make it, there is an 80-page, full-color print catalog available online at:

    Cheers!

Congratulations! Do you know how the collector came into ownership of your quilt?

If you'll read the message just before yours, you'll get your answer. :)
