ll bean and fall weather
#33
When we lived in New England (Mass & NH) I loved the fall! Now that we're here in the SE corner of New Mexioco, we don't have fall. Tomorrow is Sept. 1 & our temp for today is supposed to be 102º. Yesterday was 104º! We're gonna have a "cold" front for the weekend - 95º! Yippie! I am thinking that it should cool off by Thanksgiving, but most definitely by Christmas. This has been the hottest summer since we've been here & I'm not liking it at all. We haven't opened our windows since April. Last measurable rainfall was August 4, 2010!!! A/C runs non-stop 24/7, but I am grateful we have it. Peep at some leaves for me, please.

It can't happen a moment too soon for this Texas gal! It's 5:25 in the afternoon and 101 degrees. Plus we have wildfire AGAIN. We have a ranch in Palo Pinto County near Possum Kingdom Lake. The April fires burned over more than half our property, but thankfully spared the house, outbuildings, and livestock. We don't live there but it was a very scary time. Now we have another fire in the area closer to the lake. Several lovely homes have been destroyed and many more are at risk. Some of these are vacation homes, but most are primary residences. Please pray for these families and for all those brave firefighters trying to contain the fire.

I think after living in the South my entire life and dealing with short falls and mild winters, the weather in New England is such a great change. The summer still gets hot, but September is when it starts to get cooler, while in TN where I used to live temps could be in the 90s very easily. I don't care for the winter as much and by the end of January, I'm ready for spring.
