Terri was here and saw it in the pinning stage and wanted to see the final product...it's a gray/white stripe in the blocks, with 2 shades of brown as the Xs, I used the same gray and white on the back side, with the two browns alternating as binding.

Thank you for making this quilt. My sister's family recieved one for their son's death. He was a vet of Iraq and spent 17 months there. He came home just fine but was killed in a car accident 13 months later. The quilt means so much to them. She says its like a hug from him. I am so greatful for quilters like you who donate their time and talent for making some thing that will be treasured for a lifetime.

    It's a beautiful quilt.

Nice to see HOTB quilts here. I made two which have found their homes with families. Have one top done and ready for quilting. Plus have blocks for a least one more.
Mine are done with a variety of FQ's with Civil War look.

I met a gentleman who received a HOTB quilt, not one I worked on. He gave me a big hug as a thank you. It meant a lot to him and his wife to receive the quilt. Their son was in his early 20's when he was killed in Iraq.

I made one for my son that served in Afganistan also. He is home now and going to college. I am going to give it to him for Christmas.

Thank that family for me, Maryb, tell them I appreciate their son's keeping us safe. I'm so glad they got a quilt and that it's of comfort to them.
    Hugs,
    Sharon

I've just made a bunch of blocks and found some at a sale that were already made. Gave them to our coordinator here as our state has lost five more recently. Heartbreaking that we have this happening still.

    Hugs to all!
