When my 17 year old granddaughter was here for the summer she asked why was I shaving my legs every morning (she could hear the razor running in the morning) I sat her down and explained the facts of life about menopause and facial hair. I told her there were some things no one explains to you about getting older so not to have it be a big surprise I was going to tell her this one. Her reply. . . "EEEWWWWW........" I said "Exactly"

Oh Linda, I do so enjoy your stories! Please keep spreading the joy! Also, There ar plastic mattress covers to use on your bed instead of trash bags. My mom used them when we were kids because of our allergies. Don't need to use them anymore, but I've seen them in the stores.  8-)

To give yourself a sponge bath soak a disposable diaper with water and use it to wipe down your body. During the Gulf War the United States soldiers used disposable diapers to give themselves a bath.

Well, it would sure save on water. Diapers have those plastic globs that grab onto moisture and hold it, pressing on them will make them release a little bit of it at a time. In the Gulf they had a shortage of water.....
As for Avon Skin So Soft, my Army Sgt SIL said he used it in areas that had mosquitoes as big as humming birds and it kept a lot of them away from him. Considering his size and rank, I'm sure that not many of his men commented on his smelling good, most were too busy trying to figure out how many of the huge skeeters it would take to lift off with some of the smaller men.
