I would use a large piece as a center focus panel and then pick out some of the bright colors you like for small scale fabrics to be incorporated in a variety of borders: narrow, then braid, then medium width, etc, to get to the size you want. You could incorporate smaller pieces of the focus fabric in the braid border to give it continuity. Use the other yardage with the beige background for the back. I love that fabric.

I agree! Sure would put a smile on my face to be strutting around in this!

Maybe as a backing using the larger piece and then use the smaller as "big" blocks on the front with coordinating fabrics. Please post what you end up doing...

I'm thinking reversible bag so you can have one with each background. Cute fabric!

Tote bags? It's really cute fabric - perhaps a reversible bag as suggested above.

If I had it, it would become a Project Linus (or other children's charity quilt) made into a super nine patch OR the focus fabric in the D9Patch. One can just see sick children in hospitals looking at the fabric after mommy or other relative made up stories about the funny little old ladies and what they were doing. Their names could be Gravel Gerty, Matilida and Suzie-Q. LOL

If you want a hat pattern check out Wildginger.com and look at their free download for Wild Things, it is a program that allows you to print out patterns for accessories.
