Hello and welcome from Lowell, MA. Congratulations on finishing your chemo, that's a major hurdle. My niece and two of my friends are breast cancer survivors and one girlfriend walks the Boston Marathon route every fall to raise money for the Jimmy fund for kids with cancer, and her husband and 2 daughters have joined her as well. For a first quilt, start simple and easy, most magazines have listed their quilts as beginner, intermediate and advanced so that you know which quilts will be easiest for a beginner. Also Eleanor Burns has great books at quilt in a day that are great for beginners and her books are easy to follow. Thanks to someone on QB I found the Missouri Star Quilt Company with great tutorials and easy quilts. I'm sure others on QB will offer more ideas. Good luck, you're going to love quilting and QB, they can be addictive.
