I so know what you are talking about! I just finished the top for a table runner and wasn't sure I liked it while it was in process. After I figured out the borders and put those on, it all came together. I spent some time just thinking about borders and asked my hubby for his opinion. He gave me an idea that seemed right and I went for it. So happy to finish the top - will be even happier when it's totally done!

try putting the green as a small border. i don't care for the pink. the green will warm it up with the yellow I think it is very pretty but get the pink out.

Firstly, I like the first one.

Secondly, don't be so hard on yourself; your project is very pretty. Finish it and move on. You will learn so much by completing all the steps! I promise... ask me why I know!

Hugs!

I would rearrange them different ways till I come up with a setting I like. I like the lighter background with the brown on all 4 corners than interweave the light and dark green instead of colors all over the place. Maybe try it not on point and see it you like it that way. Just play with it till you find a good placement...

I actually really like it, and I prefer the first version. I agree with the "put it away for a bit and it will grow on you" sentiment.

Yes, I have had more than 1 project like that. Some have been finished and some are still stuffed in the coset. LOL I like the color combination of your quilt fabrics. The picture
posted with the darker fabric is my favorite. It gives more life to the inter squares.
