In a cemetery in Lexington , KY there is a tombstone with a TV remote engraved on it! :)

Those of us who are also 'addicted' to genealogy will appreciate adding children's name to headstones in the cemetery. Thanks for a fantastic idea.

The sewing machine emblem is unusual but not at all weird. It's part of who you are. Your whole plan sounds well thought out.

This seems to be an appropriate message for today as we remember all those who tragically lost their lives on 9/11/2001. My father died suddenly in his 50s; my mom wasn't prepared. My husband died 3 2/1 months into our marriage; I certainly wasn't prepared.

Let me tell you, the more you do now, the more your family will thank you later!

It's the smart thing to do. We did that many years ago. Saves strain on family members. Lots of people are doing that now.

Do it. It is NOT weird...I have made all my final arrangements and paid for it. I had to do this task for both my parents, my son, and my husband. I just wish I had thought of putting something like this on my tombstone.

I see nothing wrong with putting a sewing machine on your headstone! I just might request the same thing!
