How thoughtful of your son to be so aware! And super thoughtful of you to do this for her. The fabrics and placement are perfect and I wouldn't change a thing!

i started with 1 yard of flannel (#7).."funny Babies" by Amy Bradley
then pulled the other fabrics to match...i think they match. i wasn't happy with the fabrics as they set..so i cut 1.5" white..to seperate some of the colors, make them pop.
there is polka dots,purple stripe,small flowers w/purple,pink,blue
the widest strip is cut 4" the smallest 1.5"
should i make the wider ones narrower?
any suggestions?

That's great that you are making this for her. Please, let the authorities at her school know that this is going on. A friend at church lost her daughter 4 months ago due to bullying....she hung herself. So sad but kids can be sooooo cruel!

The quilt is lovely and will bring that poor child great comfort. Knowing that someone thought so much of her to make a special quilt just for her should help with her self esteem. My heart breaks for her - sure hope the school will step up and deal with the young man who is making her life miserable.

You're doing a great kindness for this little girl. I know just how she feels, I went through the exact thing when I was a child. I wish people could understand how the things that they think are so funny and "cool" that demean others can really scar their victims. I know that just knowing that someone thinks she's special enough to make her a lovely quilt will give her a boost.

i am not doing anything that any other quilter would do, seeing a need and filling it..we all do it. I just wish i was closer.
It is all done, now to find a quilter..if i can't get one quick enough, i will do it myself..

I like your color combination. It will be a very pretty quilt. I can understand how the little girl feels because I have always been on the chunky side all my life. My classmates were just as cruel as her's seem to be. This attitude has followed me no matter what I have done--school, work, college, social settings. God will bless you in a very special way for this gift. Not many people would care enough to try to make this little girl feel special and worthy of God's love and blessings. This will hopefully give her the courage to walk up to her classmates and tell them she forgives them for their hatefulness. Jeanniebelle

Beautiful, I am sure the little girl will love it. I hope the school does something soon about this before it is too late. My DGS school has a zero tolerance with bullying and even in the second grade there was a little girl who was the bully, she has gotten better but still does it some what but she is not in my DGS class and he has not complained about it this year so hopefully it has stopped.
