My grandson in Florida made a card for his grandparents and his Mommy put it on Facebook for us. I printed it and have on our refrigerator. Maverick will be two years old January 18th. My granddaughter lives here in town and her Mommy made us cupcakes. Lily is almost one year old, Oct. 1.

My DIL always had my grandson send a card in previous years and no doubt will again in 2012.
This was 9/11 and they live in NYC

We had a lovely day with my son, DIL, and two grandsons. I HAD SUGGESTED SINCE IT WAS GRANDPARENT'S DAY, THAT WE WOULD TREAT THEM ALL BY GOING OUT TO DINNER. In that way, we could spend a special day with them and be happy. After all, isn't that really what it is all about? We are blessed that we have grandchildren, that we have adult children who care about us, and that we can all be together. Standing on ceremonies only allows for bad feelings. Happy is happy! I'd rather have that! (BTW, when we got to their house, we got BIG hugs and my son surprised us with a beautiful dinner he cooked for us.)Put happy ideas together for a happy family.

I got a card from my granddaughter in Texas..I had no idea there was a "Grandparents Day". I loved the card but wonder what Hallmark will come up with next!

Don't feel bad....probably most of us went unrecognized, but that's ok. Having them to love is our greatest gift anyway!!

well, my husband and i were pleasantly surprised for grandparent's day! 3 of our grandchildren brought us pictures/cards they made to church and our daughters came home with us after church and cooked lunch and honored us with a gift! we did not even realize it was grandparent's day! even more special because the daughter that organized this is a single mom with little resources; we were so truly honored and blessed!
