I've always found that walking in and starting the conversation is the best thing. Have fun!!!

I understand exactly what you are talking about....Just be yourself and remember to breathe. It will be hard and fun and you will always be glad you did.

p.s. You don't need our courage, you've got plenty of your own! You just need to be reminded.

Hi I just attended my 1st Quilter's Guild meeting this past Thursday. My quilting co-worker didn't show up and I was also like you very nervous about meeting new people. The ladies were great so warm and outgoing. I really had a nice time. I am seriously considering joing the quild in November during open enrollment. Just jump in and enjoy yourself. You can do it!!

Go and have a great time. Don't be shy. Remember, they are nervous about meeting new people too. Once you get to know a few people it will be grand.

Shannon: If it's the CAMEO quilt guild, I'll go with you! It will be my first meeting, too. Is it a deal? We can give each other courage(and comfort)! PM me if you want to make this a date!! :-) Sybil

Congrats on taking the plunge, sometimes it's not easy meeting new people in new surroundings, but just remember they are all quilters and quilters are usually a friendly bunch. Sometimes guilds will have a greeter that will introduce you around and help you to be more comfortable. I'm sure you will do fine - after all - they were new once themselves. You will probably have so much fun you'll forget to be shy. Good luck.

Hold your head up high and start talking to some people. You might not be the only new one. Relax and have fun. Keep us posted.
