The price and the craze have both peaked, and now you can buy about 4 featherweights for that much money! At the height of the craze the rarer white ones were going for about $800. Just be patient and keep looking... There are so many out there.

Oh, no, don't do it. Get on ebay, you can get one lots cheaper than that. Maybe $200.-250. You can oil & lube them yourself & even buy parts if needed. Take your time you'll find one & spend the rest on fabric!!

I got one from EBAY for 175 + shipping. I would have to have all the money in the world to pay that for one that you can refurbish yourself, because it isn't that hard to do with the tutes on here. Even a rare white one I wouldn't pay that for. A 222 is worth more and harder to find but wouldn't pay that for one of them either. would get a long arm instead.
