I bought ceramic pie plates at the Christmas Tree Shop for 3.99 and I'm going to make fabric holders with handles for them out of fabric strips and clothes line.

I am making several quilts and table runners for Christmas this year. I also make home made candies and hot pads or coasters for neighbor gifts.

We have a family tradition of making our quilts. Some get a quilt, or hot pads and ,aprons. Our men enjoy grilling so they get a chefs apron. Some of the men from work get a nice patchwork pillow. I am very into trying the mug rug, Candle mats. Telephone notepads( can be patchwork with a note pad and pencil. We have made housshoes for a lot and a box of homemade cookies is always welcome. One year a cousin made homemade bread for each of the men. One year I made the men robes from double knit and put satin patchwork pockets, belt and a initial on a satin patch . They are still being used tody . You can do it.

and the ladies' club to which I belong have told me that they all hope that I get their name as there are only two of us who do hand work......

my quilting and the other lady does cross stitch.

I am sure that most everyone would appreciate something you did just for them.
although there's always one........but I would not concern myself with that.....the majority would be thrilled.

I am making lots of mug-rugs for my son's friends......

I also have the pattern for coffee cup wrappers but that's still on the drawing table...... they are really adorable.....

I have made some Christmas placemats and table toppers..so I am ahead of myself this year......

..but you wanna bet I will still be sewing right up to the big day?

Saw a Singer machine (v. old) at our church yard sale. Price $40. Tried to find info on age and according to number on front, mfg.'d in 1924. I may be wrong. Sound like a deal? I am not interested for myself, but if good deal, would pick it up for someone. What do you think?
